The writer Aldous Huxley famously stated:

“I wanted to change the world. But I have found that the only thing one can be sure of changing is oneself.”

Use these insights to make the most of the opportunities that present themselves in these discontinuous times.

  1. Even though you live in a very status oriented society, it’s critical for your health, sense of identity and overall well being that you accept that you are not your job title.

  2. Knowing your strengths and weaknesses is the key to knowing yourself well.
  3. Knowing yourself helps you to be clear about your core values. Self knowledge helps you to be clear about the things that you can be flexible about.
  4. If you know, acknowledge and are grateful for your skills and abilities you are more likely to be successful in this millennium. If you acknowledge your skills and are grateful for them, you’ll find it easier to influence others
  5. Self confidence and bravado (bigging yourself up) are two different things. I strongly recommend self confidence ahead of bravado.
  6. The world around us is always changing.
  7. We can use our adaptability to respond to change.
  8. We can use our self awareness to anticipate change.
  9. We have the capacity to keep on changing.
  10. We can transform ourselves by making a habit of continually changing and developing ourselves for our own and the world’s betterment.

What will you do today to turn your insights into reality?

Today I strive and I endeavour to always seek to take control of me. Transform me and seek to ignite others to see the need to change; because after all I can only change me. No one will ever change unless such an individual sees, accepts and honours such a need by getting involved in one’s own transformation.

The mind must first become conscious in order for correct and successful application can be had. Hence, you can only successfully change the world by changing SELF. So the world will only become a better place if all the porported 6 billion selves - change themselves.
