Put on your hard hat

Here are two things that I’d like you to do.

First, imagine that you’re a construction worker and you’ve just arrived at your first day at work on the site. Take a pause and answer these 4 questions:

1. What do I want from work?

2. Are my beliefs about work helping me to get what I want?

3. Are my beliefs about work getting in the way of me getting what I want?

4. Do I have beliefs that I need to change?

Have you answered these questions? Good.

Second, imagine now that you are the owner of local management company. You are responsible for leading the team of construction workers. You also have to maintain an excellent relationship with the Chinese firm that has the overall contract for managing the site. It is the beginning of your second week

Now answer these 3 questions:

1. Am I aware of the approach that I take towards the team of construction workers?

2. How effective has my approach been?

3. Is there any part of my approach that I need to change?

Now you’ve played these roles.

How do you feel?

How many secrets have you discovered?

What have you learnt?

Do you have questions that would help you to discover more secrets?
