4 Leading Questions For You
April 21st, 2007 by Galba Bright
Time to act, or time to reflect?
How often in the hubbub of the every day life do you ask yourself whether what you’re doing makes sense?
We reward and value the ceaseless activity, yet we regard the time spent on reflection with disdain. We don’t say it explicitly, but we demonstrate our outlook by how we prioritise our time.
“I can’t think right now, I’m too busy”
4 Powerful questions from Ed Brenegar
Ed Brenegar over at the Leading Questions Blog poses the 4 Questions That Every Leader Must Ask.
What is our impact?
Who are we impacting?
What opportunities do we have now?
What problems have we created?
Right now, Ed has a great offer. Answer his 4 questions, email him your answers at ed@edbrenegar.com and he’ll give you his personalised feedback. It struck me as a fantastic way to
learn how to become more effective, so I seized the opportunity.
Ed gave me invaluable pointers to help me better understand the impact of my Emotional Intelligence work. For example, Ed stressed that it’s important to practice a skill with a view to
gaining progressive improvements in your effectiveness.
He argues that if you commit to this process you’ll create a life full of the impact that you desire. I agree with Ed.
I also strongly recommend this continual improvement method as the best means of continually improving your Emotional Intelligence.
How do you feel about taking time to reflect?
Does it distract you from urgent matters, or does it deliver a powerful return on the time and energy that you invest?
Take up ED Brenegar’s 4 Questions offer, write your own Leading Questions story and boost your effectiveness.
