Albert Einstein’s 7 Simple EQ Lessons

Ellen Weber from the Brain Based Business Blog recently wrote a lovely profile of Albert Einstein. She explained that he made full use of his multiple intelligences. He didn’t rely on intellect alone.

These 7 Simple Lessons reveal Einstein’s deep understanding of self-awareness, the foundation competence of Emotional Intelligence.

1. We should take care not to make the intellect our god; it has, of course, powerful muscles, but no personality. self awareness

2. Great spirits have always encountered opposition from mediocre minds. The mediocre mind is incapable of understanding the man who refuses to bow blindly to conventional prejudices and chooses instead to express his opinions courageously and honestly.

3.When you look at yourself from a universal standpoint, something inside always reminds or informs you that there are bigger and better things to worry about.

4. Do not worry about your difficulties in Mathematics. I can assure you mine are still greater.

5. It is a miracle that curiosity survives formal education.

6. I never think of the future - it comes soon enough

7. Any man who reads too much and uses his own brain too little falls into lazy habits of thinking.

Bonus Lesson

The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources.

You can find these (and many more) quotations at www.quotations.com, well worth a visit. Who’s next for Ellen’s Einstein challenge? I’m sure we can cover the full spectrum of multiple intelligence.

Great insights about the man and the brain here Galba. Reminds me that Einstein used his strengths in spatial intelligence - to sketch out solutions for instance.

When others used numbers, he did math often in sketches instead, connecting that which had not before been connected:-) We know that produced answers others missed also:-) Fun! Thanks for the post!

It’s my pleasure. I need to stop visiting your blog :). Those pesky dendrite connections just keep on growing ;)

Here goes intellectual wisdom in simple but powerful sayings. I think this boils down to my assertion that all human beings possess in some form another Emotional Intelligence. It is a natural endownment which in this age needs to be harnessed because our modern cultures have moved us away from simplicity.
