“A mind stretched by a new idea can never return to it’s original condition.”

Oliver Wendell Holmes

I invited readers to compose a new tagline for Tune up your EQ. On offer was the chance to win one of 3 free Tune up your EQ Coaching sessions with me.

The 30 suggestions that I received really made my brain hum. It showed me, once more how important it is for me to consider readers’ perspectives. Here’s a breakdown of those who took part in the tagline challenge.

Readers That Don’t Blog

My heartfelt thanks go to two readers from the Me and My EQ series, Tanika Williams and Jeanette Campbell, both from Jamaica. Tanika and Jeanette have been involved in the Emotional Intelligence journey since January 2006, when I first “met” them on IRIE FM, the Jamaican radio station.

My fellow consultant and friend, Eileen Heaven, also from Jamaica, offered her insights and ideas. I’m also grateful to Ray Hobby, from England. Ray is smart. You’ll discover why I say that in the forthcoming Me and My IQ series (no, it’s not a typo). Ray has been a great EQ sounding board to me since I started Tune up your EQ.

I’m also delighted to have received ideas from the following great bloggers. They are known and read extensively by people throughout the world.

Al, From 7P Productions
Albert, From Urban Monk
Liara Covert, from the Dreambuilders Blog
Ellen, From Positive Communication Blog
Benjamin Ellis, From WOWNDADI - Productivity and Communication for Leaders
Robyn McMaster,from Brain Based Biz
MT(That MindTweaks Chick)
Priscilla Palmer, From Personal Development Demands Success
Steve Roesler from All Things Workplace
Ellen Weber, from Brain Based Business

Click on any of the links above and enjoy some fine writing.

Thank you everyone for your energy and ideas. You’ve shaped my thinking and influenced the tagline that I finally chose.

Tune up your EQ Coaching Session Winners

I selected the three winners at random. They are Steve Roesler from All Things Workplace, Ray Hobby and MT(That MindTweaks Chick)

The New Tagline

I’ve decided on the tagline and I’ll write about it and what I learned from the process in the next few days.

I’m really grateful to everyone who took part and who expressed an interest.

Tune up your EQ Tip

I aimed to sincerely ask readers for their ideas so I could better understand how readers “see” Tune up your EQ. A feedback exercise like this could help to develop my social awareness, which is an important emotional intelligence competency.

    Hello Melissa:

I’m sorry you had the problem with the downloads. I’ve made adjustments, so they’re now available at the site. Ray Hobby’s story was good, wasn’t it? Be sure to follow the fortchcoming Me and My IQ series in which Ray will feature.
