    Dear Sandra:

It is with tremendous shock and sadness I received the news of Galba’s untimely and unfortunate passing. I wish I could share with you in words the impact that Galba had on my studies of the Emotional Intelligence as well as on my life in general. He had a most unique and miraculous ability to relate to and communicate with the people who took a great interest in the subject of EQ.

Galba would never hesitate to answer any of my questions, even if they were questions of a personal nature. He once commented in an email to me about how influencial and important his Mother had been in his life! I am sincerly and deeply sadden beyond belief! I pray for the healing and blessing for you and your family for we have lost a most gifted spirit and kind soul far too early.

I was scheduled to start training with Galba by the first of May. He was going to coach me and allow me to utilize the many resources he has provide to his many followers. I searched long and hard before I came to a decision as to who I would chose as a Coach and I knew in my heart that Galba and his studies were by far the best match for me. I tell you this, because I want you to know truly how deep the pain runs from his absence not only amongst you and his most admired family but from people like me, who considered him not only a gracious and kind friend but an amazing Mentor.

Please let me know if the family will be accepting any donations in Galba’s name.

With great respect and much sorrow and sympathy,

I am so shocked and saddened to hear of Galba’s passing. His kindness and generosity was palpable and even though I only corresponded with him online, I thought of him as a friend, and one of those I was blessed to know in any manner. I can’t imagine what a loss this is to his family. Please accept my sincere regret. My prayers are with you.

Quite clearly, Him up there wanted some help with spreading the applied EI ’story’ as wide as possible.
He couldn’t have called for better help …and I am sure we WILL see the impact he made more clearly.

To ‘know’ him for such a short time, albeit electronically, was a truly enjoyable experience and to recall his giggle in one of our long skype conversations was a real joy.
That was applied EI in all its glory and we all benefitted greatly from his unravelling of a complex idea with the clarity of simple good sense.

I am truly proud to have known him !

My love and best wishes go, especially, to his wife Sandra …and to all ‘the EI family’ he has left behind.

    Goodbye my friend

How does one express in words the passing of the most wonderful person and a dear friend? Glaba, you were a shining star in my life, your conversations enlightened my life and I will continue to listen to your words for ever and a day. The 20 plus years we shared as friends was such pleasure. I will miss you.

Sandra, may God be with you at this time … the same for all of Glaba’s family and friends.

We are bless to have known and shared the life of a brilliant star. Take your place in the heavens my friend. In my soul your light is still shining brightly.

Dear Sandra, Through tears, and shock and deep saddness we mourn the world’s loss of so great a human. Galba was a much belowed friend, a colleague, a brother and a deeply inspired thinker. His words nudged others to do well and to find well-being.

His messages came from depth and care for a broken world! He challenged us all with his images of humans who developed Emotional Intelligence in ways that added value to their lives.

I learned from Galba and gained great delight in sharing my own MITA brain based ideas with him. We spoke of the value and delight of doing a project together - and it was so meaningful to me that this would happen in ways that benefited others. That was Galba’s amazing clarion call.

To learn of such a precious friend passing is to be reminded that life is short and unpredictable. May we all see the best in others as Galba did, reach to intellectual challenges he taught, and learn to love our work and lives the way this remarkable many loved and lived his.

He touched my own life deeply, and his memory will remind me daily to touch other lives in his precious name!

Be blessed in this difficult time, Sandra, and may you feel the strength of our faith added to yours — and sense our prayers — to help you though the sorrow of such loss. Best, Ellen

    Dear Sandra:

I have spent my day praying and pleading for restored peace in your family. I am sadden beyond belief and perhaps I am most sad for the very lives Galba had yet to touch, for his touch on my life was quite profound.

I have posted a memorial of Galba on both my facebook as well as in the facebook group, “Name Your Guru”, for that is what I will forever remember him for. Goodbye my Guru.

With continued thoughts, prayers and hopes, I will carry you all in my heart!

    Bless you-Carrie

I was extremely shocked with the news. Of all the multitude of people that authored blogs, I found Galba to be one of the most sincere and refreshing voices out there.

I can only imagine what Sandra and the rest of Galba’s family and friends are going through now. For what it’s worth, he has made a positive impact with so many people around the world, including mine. Not too many people can say they accomplished as much good as what Galba has done.

While I did not know Galba, I feel as if I knew him because I read his writings and he sent me comments on mine. As recently as March 9, Galba sent me two full pages of thoughtful comments about blogging and his advice that I will keep, use, and cherish. This makes me sad that someone so full of wisdom and generosity is now not among us. He will be missed, but remembered. Thank you Galba. Jann Freed

Twice in the last year, my phone rang and it was Galba on the other end. Each call was long and rich in sharing our appreciation for the other. Galba took a little thing I did, and turned it into a fantastic thing for him and the people he touched. He was a generous and gracious man. I will miss knowing that he is out there doing very good work in serving people in Jamaica. My prayers are with Sandra on this day when they honor Galba’s life. The best we can do in remembrance is to emulate the emotional intelligence that he not only knew as well as anyone, but lived.
God’s comfort and peace with each of you his family, friends and colleagues.

Galba was a member of the LinkedIn Bloggers group, of which I am one of the moderators, from February 2007. Although I did not get to know him, I realize from the comments here by Easton Ellsworth and others, that he was highly respected and an obviously talented and generous helper of others. May he rest in peace.

    Sandra,
I never got to know you but I believe you must have been a very important part of your husband’s life and his views. He often visited my blog/website and always had a thoughtful and caring comment. He was kind and encouraging. I will miss going to my site and not seeing a comment. He touched my life in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. I can only imagine your deep loss based on how powerfully he could touch people at a distance and you had him right there with you. Please take care.

It is with the deepest of regrets that I have been informed of the untimely passing of the Master Teacher of EQ. My getting in contact with this humble character was through IRIE FM at a time when I was in search of self-empowerment and more than co-incidental I heard him one Sunday morning in 2005 as a guest with Andrea Williams-Green on the Running African Programme. The following day I got in touch with him via e-mail and ever since we have had dialogues on appointments, telephone and via his blog. He was a very opened individual yet reserved when wisdom dictated for him to be. He was of great encourgement to me as I got so tired of the teaching world which blocked me of making miraculous behavioural change of my troubled students. I some how had the courage through his selfless work to create a Living Values Club and Document which with his permission incorporates his 7 Laws Of Emotional Intelligence. His tireless works have moulded me into a Life Transformation being who will always be reliving the taught knowledge of a person who has exited this world without saying”Good Bye”- because his life long goal was to never say Goodbye because his shared and taught values must remain with his wife, family members, associates, fans and readers- his students.

It is our duty to let his works continue.

I personally honour him as an ICON of EQ. He started a journey which should never have an end……….

Strength and Peace be with his wife and family members.
