Persistence: The Secret Way To Thrive On Any Change Part 2
November 7th, 2007 by Galba Bright“A fanatic is someone who won’t change his mind and can’t change the subject”
Quotation by Winston Churchill.
In the fifth article in this Thriving on Change series I served you the first course of a banquet of fine food for the mind from Ralph Marston.
Grab your seat and tuck in to the second course. The quotations are in bold and my notes are in italics.

“The world can trick you into thinking that there’s only one road to your destination. In truth, there are infinite ways to get where you wish to go.”
Open your mind and heart. Stir your creative juices.
“There’s nothing that says you have to succeed in the same way as someone else. In fact, there’s nothing that says you must define success in the same way as someone else.”
This is why it is so important to obey the ancient injunction Know Thyself.
Use your self-knowledge to define success in your own special way
“You are truly one of a kind, with your own unique passions and purposes. And you’re fully capable of traveling your own route to the fulfillment of your dreams.”
Your self awareness is your launching pad to greater self-confidence.
“Don’t be stopped just because the road that everyone else uses has been closed. Find your own path, and if that path is blocked find another, and you will surely reach whatever destination you choose.”
A self aware person backs his/her own judgement (including feelings).
S/he knows how to leverage creative imagination to achieve amazing results.
I hope you enjoyed this fine meal as much as I did. Thanks, once more, Tony Walcott from Barbados, for laying the table with this sumptuous meal of Ralph Marston quotations.
